Welcome to Tavistock EatWise ~ Eat Local Campaign

The Tavistock EatWise Campaign, led by Tavistock Forward, was part of the bid to win the competition to find the 'Best Local Food Town'.  Not only did Tavistock win their category, but went on to win the Overall Award for the 'Best Food Town in the South West' this year.

Illustrated above and below are just some of the people living in and around the Tavistock area (see map) who were and still are, involved in the EatWise Campaign from the local community, such as pubs, clubs, farmers, cafes, schools, restaurants, hotels and many more, who are striving to promote and provide good quality food using local produce ... The EatWise ~ Eat Local Campaign has only just begun. July 2006 has seen the beginning of the new EatWise ~ Eat Local Database which was officially launched at the Tavistock Food Festival. The database is
a major component of the ongoing objective to link food producers to food consumers.

The Eatwise Database is designed for anyone to use and reviews are now being sought on the 300 or so entries ... EatWise Database
