The Tavistock
EatWise Campaign, led by Tavistock Forward, was
part of the bid to win the competition to find the 'Best Local Food Town'. Not only did
Tavistock win their category, but went on to win the Overall
Award for the 'Best Food Town in the South West' and this
title remains!

The EatWise ~ Eat Local
campaign began in late 2005. July 2006 saw the beginning of the new EatWise ~ Eat Local
Database which was officially launched at the Tavistock Food Festival.
The database is a major component of the ongoing objective to link food
producers to food consumers.
Illustrated above and below are just some of the
local community living
in and around the Tavistock area (see
map) who are involved in the EatWise Campaign, such as pubs, clubs, farmers,
cafes, schools, restaurants, hotels and many more, who are
striving to promote and provide good quality food using local
